To celebrate this awesome event, I have created this project using Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays in Canna Lilly Burnt Orange, Opal Sea Oats and Lindy Stamp Gang Magicials in Screamn' Banshee Black and  Imaginarium Chipboard.

"Sunset Shots"

I have created the background using texture paste and a stencil and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. I have heat embossed some of the chipboard and used a rust paint on the other. With the Imaginurium Chipboard letters I have used a distress crayon to colour. To finish the layout off and bring it all together I have used the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical in Screamn' Banshee Black by flicking the powder over the background and spritzing with water.

August DT Challenge at Imaginarium Designs

This month our DT co-ordinator Natalie set us the challenge of using chipboard boarders on a layout.

Here is my take on the challenge.

"Adventure"

"

I have heat embossed the boarder and clock in old gold and then painted the chipboard title in white gesso.

Chipboard, Metalics, Rust and Metal

For my August post at Imaginarium Designs I have used some wonderful pieces of chipboard and used different techniques to give

them a metallic, rust and metal look.

 

"The Boys"

 

To create this rust and aged look I have used Prima Marketing Rust Effect Paint  and given the chipboard a few coats to give it this effect.

I have to say I love it and will certainly be using this technique again and again!

 

 

" Beautiful"

 

This layout is taken of one of the gorgeous elephants at the Singapore Zoo.

 

 

I have  used a stencil and texture paste to create some interest on the background of the page.

I have then sprayed a water based ink over the background and flicked a deeper colour over the page.

 

I have heat embossed the ID chippie Nat's Squares, with a gold embossing powder and cut it in half to place under the photo.  I have used white gesso to paint the ID Chipboard title "Beautiful".

 

 

 

 

 

" Super Star"

 

I find making male cards difficult, but I wanted to set myself a mini challenge.

I have created a card for Father's Day which is early next month.

 

 

I have used both metallic embossing powder and rust paste on the ID Chipboard circles and title. I have used a white distress paint to cover the ID chipboard stars and letters.

 

Chipboard is extremely versatile and is great fun to play with. What you can create using chipboard is endless!

2016 so far

Hi All,

 

I have been terrible and really neglected my blog this year so I thought that it was time that I got back into the swing of things and started to blog more regularly.

In a nut shell this year had been a busy one for our family. We came back in mid January from a wonderful family trip in the U.K.  Our younger son Jack started at a new school and Ben our older son started Year 7 which was a big jump from the previous year in regards to homework and new challenges.  Our life has started a new chapter as having a 12 year old in high school that has got many sport commitments, a social calendar and needs help getting himself organised with homework etc. has impacted us all in one way or another. It is certainly an exciting time along with challenging at times but we are enjoying watching our boys grow up and starting to form their own ideas.

 

As for my scrapbooking..well that has taken some changes too.   I have said goodbye to being on the Design Team of Scrapmatts in which I enjoyed my time for 3 years.  I made some wonderful friends along the way and will be forever grateful to Sophie and Andrew for all their support while I was working on the DT. I had some wonderful experiences working at expos in Perth with them and my most memorable was Teaching at the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo last year with Scrapmatts sponsoring me. Here are some of my favourite projects that I created while I was on the DT team.

 

 

Since leaving Scrapmatts I have joined another fabulous Design Team. Imaginarium Designs which is a chipboard company based in Adelaide, South Australia and also an online store The Scrapbook Store which is based here in Perth.

I have really enjoyed working with these companies and their products.  It has been really refreshing having new challenges and certainly got my creative juices flowing again.

 

I have promised myself to  do regular blog posts  from now on  ( I have even scheduled time in my calendar). You will be able to see all the fantastic products that I am working with at Imaginarium Designs and The Scrapbook Store.

 

 

 

 

 

Adore You.....

Pets are just so much a part of the family. Our dog Max is almost 14 years old and we can't imagine not having him in our lives. I thought I would just do a quick post to show you a layout I have created  of our beloved pooch!

Sorry this is a short post, I have been a little hectic running my boys to all their after school sports and helping with the homework schedule. I must go and clean up the kitchen before I call it a night.

I was also lucky enough and also very privileged to have it on the cover of  Scrapbooking Memories earlier this year. I have used lots of Scrapmatts chipboard goodies that I have heat embossed.

Happy Heart - Scrapmatts Post

I  consider myself very lucky as I have not only my own two boys but I have two nephews (and twin nieces) that I get to spend time with often. My nephews are very different from my boys at the same age but they are just as adorable and keep me very entertained when I am with them.

 I have created two layouts for my monthly Scrapmatts post of my nephews.

"Happy Heart"

 

This layout is of my cheeky younger nephew! I

I have used an aged embossing powder to heat emboss the String Circles.

 

 

"EveryDay"

 

 

 

 This is my oldest nephew, he always has a wonderful story to tell and gives the most fantastic hugs!! 
I have used heat embossing on the chipboard cogs to shabby them up.

Creating Backgrounds

 Life just seems to be always busy and there is never enough time in the day, weeks, or months. It is easy to get caught up in everything going on and not take a few minutes for yourself. That is why I love to scrapbook! I make sure that I try to schedule some time to scrap...it relaxes me, makes me feel refreshed and ready to continue with my never ending list of things to do.

 

I have created two different layouts again this month using lots of fabulous Scrapmatts goodies.

 

"By the Sea"

 

 

 

I have created the background using scraps of paper, gelatos, beads and Scrapmatts Chipboard.

I have used the Scrapmatts Square background and Circles (CB5114). I have also used the tittle and star fish embellishments from the CB4067 Marine Life Set

 

 

 

 

 

"Laugh"

 

I have created another layout which started with white cardstock. I have used scrap paper strips, washi tape, Gelatos, texture paste and a stencil, along with crackle paint.

 

 

I have used one of my favourite pieces of Scrapmatts chipboard CB5129 Circle Mesh .

The mesh pieces are a fabulous way to add texture and interest to your layouts.

I have also added some butterflies CB1028 which I have heat embossed with aged gold and the fabulous new  chipboard words.
